The Merc overlooks Intel's lockdown strategy

The San Jose Mercury News' lead story on the business page today was: Intel introduces new chip design.

So, did reporter Dean Takahashi ask one single question, or include one buried reference, to the only issue that I and many, many others in the technology world care about? (Hint: It ain't processor speed.)

Nope.
