Boulevard of Broken Songs (play mp3 here) by San Francisco's Live 105 host Party Ben is making the rounds all the way from here to Holland.

Wish I knew more about this one. It's extremely good, very polished, and you can't even tell it's a mashup. Did Party Ben get the rights to do this? I doubt it.

I'm a purist. I think that wonderwall on it's own will stand the test of time. The mix up is fun, but too much green Day. Throwing in Travis is cool because that song is openly acknowledged to be a rip-off/homage.

I really enjoyed this song as well. But I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the song put in right after the first chorus of "boulevard of broken dreams"? I can't figure out what he's saying, since his voice is very soft, but I love how it sounds and I wanted to know what it was. The only part I can make out is "everyday I wake up and it's under", or he could be saying "asunder", but I'm not sure. Does anyone know? I'd really appreciate it.

The song is cool, but they slowed down the oasis song so Liam sounds a bit weird. Should have slowed down the green day song since Billy Joe can't sing half as good as liam...and he'd be the first to tell you

I am a local San Francisco Resident. I am also a Green Day and Oasis fan. When I herd this remix while driving witha friend I nearly shed a tear. I think it is one of the most beautiful remix's. For me it collides my world from the past (Oasis in Detroit) and Present day (in San Francisco). 9 years of feelings presented in one song. It was amazing the amount of Reflection that this one song inspired inside of me.

The Travis snippet after the first chorus comes from a song named "Writing to reach you".

The Eminem song is called "Sing for the moment". It's based on a huge sample of Dream On by Aerosmith, with additionnal vocals by Eminem and a new guitar solo recorded by Joe Perry. This song could have been credited to "Eminem feat. Aerosmith" or "Eminem vs Aerosmith" (it was the case with Run DMC twenty years ago) but the band and its record company agreed not to, so the song is only credited to Eminem.

First things first "Mashups" are just plain BULLSHIT it takes no talent to do them, it's done on a pc for christ sakes! If you want to heard the true form of this music it is called BLENDING it been around for years. So if you liked this shitty Mashup you should really try some DJ's that really know how to do it right, you know ,with two turn tables and vinyl. i am only 13 and i love oasis. my older sisters boyfriend intoduced oasis to me when i was but a small 5 year old. i have loved them ever since. when i was looking for a song by oasis i saw this song with green day and oasis. i downloaded it and got really sad. i cried so hard. its not like ima baby or anything but woderwall is my healing song. i listen to it when ever i am really upset. green day and oasis are equally amazing, but they're amazing in different ways. i usually don't like remixes but this remixe melds together really well and i think it's pretty fantastic.
i really like that travis bit in there too. it all goes together fucking great.

The last part of the song is Aerosmith, not Eminem...I don't know why people seem to think Eminem made that song. Don't believe me? Check out a song called "Dream On" by Aerosmith. I can guaruntee that Eminem ripped the song from Areosmith and tried to call it his own.

I see how some might hate or love this song. Personally, the mixing itself was the reason I would like to hear it again, it's intriguing. The songs are what they are: popular. But just because a song is popular does not mean we cannot appreciate its first untarnished intentions. It was a nice idea to blend them and I feel that this is a means of adding to people's musical sensibility and not of exploiting bands that for many, speak of the past more than the present. I would like to hear songs that go more appropriately together in context blended in this fashion.

Then I heard this song on the radio (the mashup/remix/whatever you want to call it). First thing I did when I got home that day was try to find out what the bloody hell it was and download it! Now it's got a permanent place on my playlist! ^_^

I don't care what the rest of you say. To mesh four COMPLETELY different songs that perfectly and beautifully takes some pretty amazing talent. I'm a video editor, so I know how particular synch editing can be. On top of that, they might have had to alter the tonality of Wonderwall, Writing to Reach You, and Dream On, and that's difficult to do and still retain the original sound of the songs (since it's entirely possible that each song was in a different key and would've clashed horribly if thrown together just on a whim).

*is also very tone-sensitive*

The lyrics fit together like pieces of a puzzle, to be quite honest. I'm just sad I don't hear it on the radio more often. Now that the craze for the original Boulevard has died down, I've found I like the song (since all the stations around here are now playing Holiday nonstop), but I can't keep myself from inserting the lyrics from Wonderwall at the appropriate moments! *lol*

All said, brilliant work, whether it was licensed or not! Any music artist worth his mettle would have licensed the use of his songs for this after the fact, if nothing else for the sheer audacity it took to air it on the radio after he was done, and for its artistic quality.

Awesome song. I've only heard Dream On and Boulevard (and maybe a bit of one of the others) but this song sparked an interest in Oasis and Travis. Great work to whoever "mashed" it. Good mix of several different songs, although I do agree with some that this seems a little to "popular" (as in music style); focus seemed to be more on mixing pop-songs rather than on blending lyrical meaning (although I like Travis' "and what's a wonderwall anway" LOL).

Dittos to ashlayne (May 26, '05)... now I can't listen to "Boulevard" or "Wonderwall" without mentally putting in the lyrics of the other.

Dittos to bob (May 28, '05)... Chris (March 29, '05) should learn his (her?) music history (especially if you have to "learn" it because you're too young to have remembered). "Dream On" is definitely by Aerosmith from their original self-titled album in 1976. They also did a remake for Pandora's Box (which I think is worse than the original) as well as one for an MTV-awards ceremony in which they had musical help from a symphony orchestra (sorry for not knowing orchestra's name; this version was published on Aerosmith's bonus album from their Box of Fire collection; I actually think this is better than their original).

And to those doubting that it's Eminem... Eminem did indeed "incorporate" a part Aerosmith's "Dream On" in his "Sing for the Moment". In this song -- "Boulevard of Broken Songs" -- it IS Eminem's version and not Aerosmith's. Why? After Steven Tyler (yes, that's his vocals) sings "...Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears" you can hear Eminem shout "Come on!". I know... lame... I'd rather Party Ben HAD mixed the true Aerosmith song, especially if any credit (and/or royalities) are going out to Eminem instead! But, like I said at the beginning, this is a mix of pop-songs, so in goes Eminem, out goes Aerosmith...

Me and my sister heard this driving in New Mexico, and i have to say, we just both looked at each other. its not put together great, and it felt more like it was making fun of green days cliche style, but i felt like it was worth hearing a couple times. although i feel like if i hear boulevard of broken dreams one more time im going to puke, it was still preety cool. props not to the person for putting it together (*cough shitty job cough*) but to the person for the idea. This mix between GREENDAY/OASIS/AEROSMITH is the greatest i've listen to so far.Its actually the kind that i thought could never be acomplished ever. So many grunge, punks and goths had probably hoped for some sort of mix like this one(im one of the many)it is that amazing! At the very least the DJ that did it gave credit to the actual bands and it is not a "new-improved" watered down version done by some stupid new artist. keep it up.

ps to Athila Mattos actually Bittersweet Symphony is pretty popular and I know several people who love this song AND love Bittersweet. I personally know and love both AND I had parents who were VERY into classic rock so I have an extensive knowledge of it, SO SHUT UP. You don't have to love classic rock to love songs ripped from classic rock and you don't have to hate new music just because you love classic rock. Get a better taste of a variety of music would you?

This is pretty cool man, I must say. But I think it would have been better if you lef tit with Green Day and Oasis. The Travis thing is clever, but it gets a little much at some points. And for all of you douche bags arguing about trivial little things, the sample from "Dream On" by Aerosmith is actually from the Eminem cover "Sing For The Moment" you can hear Eminem's voice.

Has anyone tried slowing down "Dammit" by Blink 182 and singing it to "Let It Be" by The Beatles, it works the same way.

For anyone who's interested, if you havent found this song yet and would like to have it yourself on your own PC or to burn it onto a CD, it's easily found on the p2p program, limewire. Just download the limewire program from limewire.com and use the keywords "oasis,greenday" and it should come up in the results. I never heard it on the radio myself. I was downloading music one day and came across it by happenstance and I loved it...so I've had it ever since, and burned it on more than one CD. Every time I make a new CD, I make sure to include that blend on it. It's one that has to be on all my discs.

very good mashup. i mostly like this one because the changes are pretty well-done... once again, Party Ben proves himself worthy. It never really occured to me that Wonderwall and Blvd. would fit so well together, besides the tempo of course... travis is a nice touch, and it also mentions "wonderwall" in the lyrics (poetic justice if i've ever seen it).

To some of you who have posted on here, i encourage you to actually read through some posts before you ask the saaaame question again! how many times can you find the words "can you email me this?" "can i have this?" "whats the travis song?" "its aerosmith, idiot!"... aaagh so many ignorant people! as mentioned previously in this thread, you can easily obtain a perfectly good copy of this song by right clicking the play link and selecting "save link as" (or "save target as" in internet explorer), although who knows if that was the intent of this site. but hey, they can always just take it off.

Furthermore, to all those "experts" out there who think limewire is the obvious solution to getting songs, think again. do you have any idea how bad that crappy program is for your computer? pretty damn bad. if you want free music, educate yourself by exploring some forums or something, brought to you by google dot effing com.

anyway, kudos to the people who are willing to expand their horizons in terms of music genres... i mean, even if you dont usually like a kind of music, you can still at least respect those who do... and be open to everything... just because its something of the kind you dont usually like doesn't mean you should automatically hate it.

Okay...i listened to this song and thought most of it was pretty good. There was one problem though, the flange in the beggining. I used a music program to edit the beggining (dj software) and now it sounds much better. Just for anyone who wants it to sound better, and trust me when i say it does. to whoever that said American idiot sucks is a dumbass. I am a huge Green Day fan, I have all nine of their albums, fully meemorized and i'd have to say musically and lyrically American Idiot is their best yet. Your just pissed off because a 9 year old listens to the same music you do. People have been bashing Green Day for their most recent success and they don't deserve it at all, sure boulavard of broken drems was overplayed but so what, don't judge a whole album by just one song, go listen to "letterbomb" or "homecoming", or "are we the waiting" perhaps, sure I love Dookie, Nimrod, Insomniac, Kerplunk...the list goes on, but American Idiot leaves those albums in the dust

anyway wonderwall boulavard is a pretty good song but Oasis is kind of overrated, their sound isnt really that originall but thats just my opinion.

(and for those who say its hard to mash...well not really...they all have the same chord pattern, and so blend perfectly. If you changed the chord pattern, it would sound compltely mashed (in an inronic sense) but yeah if the chords were different, you couldn't do it [well you could, but it would sound shit!])

Eminem- I liked the twist and build up at the end- in Aerosmith it sounds too slow. Good choice! I love it

Hey Lotta comments,too many to read all,so i dont know if someone said it already,but the group(duo actually) that does this and other songs is called The Legion of Doom-theyre producers and I believe worked with several of the bands they mash up,including Get Up Kids and Saves the Day. yeah its a good song and all...eminem is crap, but still if you listen to the song whoever the guitarist he had in to record the solo was exceedingly talented...give him some credit.

LOVE THE SONG, BUT TIRED OF EVERYONE REFERRING TO THE LAST VERSE AS EMINMEM. THAT IS STEVEN TYLER SINGING FROM AEROSMITH'S "DREAM ON" WITH JOE PERRY ON THE GUITAR. EMINEM USED IT IN HIS SONG "SING FOR THE MOMENT" BUT THAT VERSE IS ALL AEROSMITH AND IT DOES NOT SUCK IF LISTENED TO IN THE CONTEXT OF THE WHOLE SONG. BESIDES THAT SONG WAS RELEASED IN 1973, 21 YEARS BEFORE OASIS OR GREEN DAY EVEN RELEASED THEIR DEBUT ALBUMS "DEFINETLY MAYBE" AND "DOOKIE". SO IT ONLY STANDS TO REASON IT MIGHT SEEM A LITTLE OUT OF PLACE.
